Le band italiane Wicked Dub Division e North East Ska Jazz Orchestra pubblicano il loro primo album insieme: Live Studio Session #1. Dopo il grande successo dei singoli Mama e You Can Fly, la formazione dub e la big band si ritrovano per reinterpretare nove celebri brani dei Wicked Dub Division.

Elettronica, melodie dei fiati e potenza vocale si fondono in questo lavoro registrato dal vivo al Deep Studio di Treviso. Ogni realtà si esprime nel proprio linguaggio fino a mescolarsi in un suono unico ed esplosivo in cui la forza della big band si unisce ai ritmi profondi e psichedelici della musica dub. Nell'album emerge un susseguirsi di ritmi incalzanti e sonorità dilatate e ipnotiche in cui la sezione dei fiati diventa lo sfondo e l'elemento creativo è nelle mani del dubmaster. La registrazione è stata allo stesso tempo una sfida e una grande festa, che si riflette senza dubbio nello spettacolare risultato finale.

La cantante e autrice della maggior parte dei testi Michela Grena spiega: “Ritrovarsi in musica è stato magico! 16 musicisti chiusi in una grande sala per riscoprire la bellezza della condivisione dopo mesi lontani dal palco, senza nemmeno poter provare. La decisione di registrare un disco live è stata immediata, proprio per godere dell'energia del momento. Tutti i brani sono stati registrati in presa diretta, senza alcun overdub, per catturare qualcosa di irripetibile”.
Arrangiato da Wicked Dub Division e Max Ravanello, mixato da Giovanni Pezzato e Peak, masterizzato da Ibon Larruzea (Euridia Estudio, Bilbao) e distribuito da Brixton Records, Live Studio Session #1 è disponibile su CD e vinile, oltre che su tutte le piattaforme digitali.
